Grant Opportunities

In July of 1990, interim Councilmember Marti Lemieux was contacted by the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce seeking assistance for two people needing meals delivered to their homes due to illness.

Marti jumped into action and with the help of many others, particularly John O’Flynn, Jackie Miles and Walt Dunne, Home Delivered Meals began in October 1990. In short order, Jerry Miles stepped in to do the legal legwork to establish a non-profit organization and thus was the beginning of a beautiful thing—Senior Services of Fountain Hills, Inc.
Soon, Senior Services was in full swing, offering Bingo, the Technology Learning Center and many activities and programs. And since the first meal was delivered, every day of the year (holidays included), countless volunteers have delivered meals to residents in need of a little help.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary, Encore will host a private Champagne Reception on February 13, 2020  to honor the spirit of generosity and love of community that continues to make Fountain Hills a wonderful place to live.

Thank you to our lead sponsor, Fountain View Village, for helping us honor the people who made this program a reality.
